From Covid19 Diagnosis to Treatment: How Health Record Apps Support My Journey

By: Anny

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm, and many people have been affected by it. When I was diagnosed with COVID-19, I remember the day I received the news that I had tested positive for COVID-19. It was the middle of summer, and I had been feeling unwell for a few days with symptoms that included cough, fever, and fatigue. As soon as I got the positive result, I went into panic mode. I was overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. Being diagnosed with a virus that had caused a global pandemic and had claimed so many lives was terrifying. I was also worried about how my body would react to the virus and how I would cope with the symptoms.

Over the next few days, my symptoms worsened, and I became increasingly worried. I was alone in my apartment, and my family and friends were all in different parts of the world. I was constantly checking my temperature, monitoring my symptoms, and trying to keep track of all my medications, doctor appointments, and test results. I felt overwhelmed, scared, and isolated. I am too weak to do anything but rest and try to ride out the symptoms. During this time, I received many calls from healthcare providers, asking about my symptoms and inquiring about my medical history. It was challenging to keep track of all the information, and I often found myself struggling to remember details from past doctor visits or medications I had taken.

That's when I decided to research a health record app that could help me keep track of everything in one place. After doing some research, I found an app that is able to manage my medical information. The app had a range of features, including the ability to track my vital signs, store my medical records, and share my health information with my doctor.

At first, I was a bit skeptical. I had never used a health record app before, and I wasn't sure if it would be able to handle the complexity of my case. But as I started using the app, I realized that it was exactly what I needed. The app I downloaded was intuitive and user-friendly, and it helped me organize all my medical information in one place.

As my symptoms worsened, I was admitted to the hospital, where I spent the next few weeks fighting the virus. During this time, the health record app continued to be a valuable tool in managing my medical information. Whenever a doctor or nurse came to see me, I could easily pull up my medical history and share it with them. This helped them understand my medical background and provide more personalized care.

In addition to tracking my vital signs, the app also allowed me to attach important documents, such as test results or discharge instructions, to my medical record. This was particularly helpful when I was discharged from the hospital and needed to share my medical information with my primary care provider. Instead of having to keep track of paper copies or trying to remember the details of my treatment plan, I could simply send my medical record with all of the relevant information.

After a month of fighting the virus, I received a call from my sister that she had also been diagnosed with COVID-19. I knew firsthand how daunting the journey could be, and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for her. That's when I remembered the health record app that I had been using to keep track of my own medical records.

I immediately went to the app and searched for the feature that would allow me to share my records with my sister. To my surprise, the app not only allowed me to share my records but also gave me the ability to rename and reuse attachments in her medical records. I was ecstatic! This feature meant that my sister would have access to all the tests and treatments that I had received, and it would make her journey just a little bit easier.

I quickly shared my medical records with my sister, and she was able to see all the details of my treatments and tests. This information gave her peace of mind and helped her make informed decisions about her own care. Moreover, with the ability to rename and reuse attachments in her records, my sister could easily add her own test results and other medical information, making her records more comprehensive and easy to manage.

My experience with the health record app has been incredibly positive, particularly during my journey with Covid19. The app allowed me to manage my medical information in a streamlined and efficient way, which was especially important when I was dealing with a serious illness. While it may seem like a small thing, having all of my medical information in one place made a significant difference in my ability to communicate with healthcare providers and manage my own care.
